Lillehammer test-drives the Monobob

December 17th, 2014

With almost one year to go to the second Winter YOG, young athletes from around the world will showcase this brand new event at the OMEGA FIBT Youth Monobob & Skeleton Series, while getting the chance to scope out the YOG track – which was also the ice track at the ’94 Olympic Winter Games.

Thirty-two young athletes aged 14 to 16 from nine countries will be competing at the tournament, and there will be six days of training and coaching before race day on Sunday 21 December.

The monobob, which will make a first appearance on the YOG programme next year, is pushed, steered and braked by just one athlete. Follow all the action this week on Twitter, where the @lillehammer2016 team will be reporting on this fantastic new event.
